Growth of the library collection when the holdings of the monasteries of Baden are integrated as a consequence of secularization.

The Library is incorporated into the state administration and is subordinated to the Ministry of the Interior. Its name is changed into Court and State Library of the Grand Duke of Baden.

Transfer of the Library into the Grand Duke's "collection building" (Friedrichsplatz, Karlsruhe). Modernization of the library administration.

From 1873 to 1942 the Library was accommodated in the "building for the united collections of the Grand Duke ", Friedrichsplatz, at Karlsruhe.

The Library's name is changed into "Badische Landesbibliothek".

The complete holdings of the Library (360.000 volumes), except the most valuable manuscripts, are destroyed by fire after an air raid.
The Library is accommodated in the building of the General State Archives.

A new building is completed (Am Nymphengarten, Karlsruhe).

The holdings pass the one million line.
