Work-based Learning in a Virtual Work Environment – the emerging skill map for vocational education and training
Duration: 9.30 am – 1.30 pm (CET)
In this international and interdisciplinary event, professionals from higher education, vocational education and information literacy professionals come together to discuss students’ future digital competence needs such as information and data literacy – and how to support these with innovative educational settings and practices such as virtual work and learning environments. For this, hands-on good practices will be shared and discussed, with a focus on what competences and framework conditions teachers and trainers need in order to promote them. We aim at an international and interdisciplinary exchange, bringing together experts from higher education, Vocational Education and Training and the information and library sector. A fruitful exchange on innovative pedagogical practices in digitally enhanced settings shall take place.
The “DEAL with Digital Work-Based Learning” initiative sets out to promote innovative teaching and learning practices in vocational and higher education all over Europe. In Digital Work-Based Learning, digital tools and practices are employed to support, enhance and provide practice-oriented learning experiences for students. In order to promote this, a competence framework for teachers and trainers is being co-developed by different stakeholders.
This unique setting will allow for new emerging networks, collaboration opportunities and perspectives on future digital competence needs as well as for the sustainability of the competence framework currently under development. It is organised by the NextEducation team DHBW Karlsruhe, Badische Landesbibliothek and the DEAL with Digital WBL project consortium.
